Home Find lost Galaxy Buds
Lost your Galaxy Buds? You can probably still find them.
Galaxy Buds that still have battery send a Bluetooth signal. Walk the area with PodSpot and follow it as it gets stronger.
Free iPhone app with in-app purchases. Needs iOS 15.5 or later.
The short answer
Take your iPhone to where you last had your Galaxy Buds and open PodSpot. It lists nearby Bluetooth devices as Near or Far. Tap a row, walk toward a stronger signal, and when they are close play a sound from PodSpot if the device can play audio. When you find them, save the spot under Previous Locations.
Find them with PodSpot
PodSpot works with the Bluetooth signal your Galaxy Buds send while they have battery.
- Open PodSpot on your iPhone and start a scan.
- Find your Galaxy Buds in the list. Each device is labeled Near or Far.
- Tap a row to open the signal screen, then walk slowly from room to room.
- When they are nearby, play a sound from PodSpot if the device can play audio.
- When you find them, save the spot under Previous Locations.
What PodSpot can and can't do
PodSpot is strongest for the last stretch, when you know your Galaxy Buds are close but cannot see them. A rising signal percentage helps when a beep is hard to hear.
PodSpot does not use Apple's Find My network. It only reads Bluetooth signals nearby.
PodSpot can play a sound on nearby earbuds when they are in Bluetooth range. Play Sound does not work on a charging case.
PodSpot scans for Bluetooth devices that are powered on and nearby, and lists them with a Near or Far label.
Tapping a device opens a signal screen: move around, and the signal percentage rises as you get closer.

Questions people ask
Can I find Galaxy Buds that are dead?
No. Galaxy Buds with no battery send no Bluetooth signal, so no scanner can pick them up, PodSpot included. If you saved the spot where you last found them in PodSpot under Previous Locations, start your search there before you buy a replacement.
Does PodSpot use Apple's Find My?
No. PodSpot does not use Apple's Find My network at all. It only reads the Bluetooth signal your Galaxy Buds send while they are switched on and nearby, which is useful when you are close but cannot see them in the room.
How close do I need to be for PodSpot to see my Galaxy Buds?
It depends on what is in the way. Walls, furniture and bodies all weaken a Bluetooth signal, so start where you last used your Galaxy Buds and walk room by room until they appear in the list with a Near or Far label.
Can PodSpot play a sound to help me find them?
Yes. When your Galaxy Buds are nearby and can play audio, PodSpot can play a sound so they beep and are easier to find under a cushion or in a bag. Play Sound does not work on a charging case, only on earbuds or other devices that can play audio.
