Any pair of Beats sends a Bluetooth signal while it is switched on and has battery. PodSpot follows that signal and shows it getting stronger as you walk toward them.

The short answer
Go to where you last had your Beats and open PodSpot. It lists the Bluetooth devices around you, each labeled Near or Far. Pick your Beats and walk toward the stronger signal as the percentage rises. They need to be switched on, have battery and be within Bluetooth range.
Find them with PodSpot
PodSpot works from the Bluetooth signal your Beats send while they are switched on and have battery.
- Open PodSpot on your iPhone and start a scan.
- Find your Beats in the list. Each device is labeled Near or Far.
- Tap your Beats to open the signal screen.
- Walk slowly from room to room. The percentage rises as you get closer. Walls and furniture weaken the signal, so keep moving.
- For the last few meters, play a sound from PodSpot and listen for them.
- When you find them, save the spot. Saved spots are listed under Previous Locations, so next time you know where to look first.
What PodSpot can and can't do
Older Beats, Beats that were never set up with an Apple Account, and Beats paired to an Android phone won't appear on Apple's map. That doesn't mean they are gone.
PodSpot reads the Bluetooth signal and doesn't use Apple's Find My network. It can't see a pair that is switched off or out of battery, or one sealed in its case.
Play Sound works only while your Beats are connected to your iPhone, and a charging case can't play audio.
Where Beats usually end up
- Powerbeats Pro 2 and Powerbeats Fit: the side pocket of your gym bag, or the spot where you took them off after a workout
- Beats Fit Pro, Studio Buds + and Solo Buds: jacket and hoodie pockets, and between the sofa cushions
- Beats Solo 4 and Studio Pro: under the car seat, at the bottom of a backpack, or on the desk beneath a pile of paper
- Beats Flex: the pocket of the last coat you wore
- Bedding, and the floor beside the bed
Questions people ask
Can I find Beats that are not in Find My?
Yes, if they still have battery and you can get within Bluetooth range. PodSpot lists the Bluetooth devices that are switched on around you and shows the signal getting stronger as you get closer.
Can PodSpot play a sound on my Beats?
Yes, once they are connected, and it helps in the last few meters. If they are not, follow the signal percentage instead.
Can I find dead Beats?
No. Beats with no battery send no Bluetooth signal, so no scanner can pick them up, PodSpot included. If you saved the spot where you last found them, start your search there.
Does PodSpot use Apple's Find My?
No. PodSpot only reads the Bluetooth signal your Beats send. It is a good fit for the last few meters, when you know you are close but can't see them.
